DANCING SOLAR FLOWERS

Alexandre Dang is an Artist-Engineer committed towards raising awareness on sustainable development and on the potential of renewable sources of energy. He developed his artistic creation often incorporating solar energy as an energy source into his kinetic art works. Through his work, Alexandre Dang offers poetry and contributes educating the general public on contemporary themes which represent a major challenge for the future.

Though the sun provides 10,000 times more energy to the earth than humans need, more than 1.7 billion people still do not have access to electricity. The pressing need to address this issue is the driving force of Alexandre Dang’s artistic commitment, where he combines scientific approach, environmental concern and humanism.

The Dang'cing Solar Flowers have become an iconic work which toured around the world. They embody a way of drawing the future in a positive view hoping for unity among countries to achieve a decent level of development, prosperity and Peace for all. This work uses a numerous group of "flowers" that move in the presence of light. The result has a very attractive eye-catching effect.
